T6 temper 6061 has been processed and can be used. Its ultimate tensile strength is at least 290MPa (42ksi) and its yield strength is at least 240MPa (35ksi). More typical values are 310MPa (45ksi) and 270MPa (39ksi) respectively. This may exceed the yield strength of some types of stainless steel.
