5754 is a European-born alloy commonly known as “AlMg3”. It is an aluminum alloy with magnesium as the main alloying element and a small amount of chromium or manganese added. It has good formability in the fully softened, annealed condition and can be work hardened to considerable strength levels. It is slightly stronger than 5052 alloy, but less ductile and very similar to 5052. As a deformed alloy, it can be formed by rolling, extruding and forging, but cannot be cast. It can be processed into a state with higher strength but lower ductility.
5754 aluminum coil has excellent corrosion resistance, especially to seawater and industrially polluted atmospheres. Typical uses include: body panels and interior parts for the automotive industry. It is also used in food processing, shipbuilding and flooring applications.

1. Homogenization annealing and heating: heating to 440°C, holding for 12-14 hours, and air cooling.
